The first new signing for the 07-08 season was British born player, Paul Moran. Paul finished off last season playing for the Sheffield Stealers, but had spent the previous five seasons with his home team, the Nottingham Panthers. Paul has earned a reputation as a player that wears his heart on his sleeve, plays with intensity and emotion and hates to lose at anything. He will be counted on to bring his gritty style of play to the Coors Giants line-up and although he isn't the biggest player, he will drop the gloves to stand up for himself or for his team-mates, something that always impressed his new Coach.

Moran is the kind of player that any team would love to have on their roster, with a great reputation on and off the ice. Paul can play forward and defense and has shuffled back and forth between both positions over the last couple of years. He is looking to make a name for himself with a new team and I'm certain that Belfast and the Coors Giants fans will embrace this guy with open arms."

Kelman had this to add, "Ed and I are both on the same page as far as recruiting quality individuals that fit into our Giants Philosophy on and off the ice. From the start we have said that we are looking for great players that are also great guys in the locker room, and in the community. Being a Giant in Belfast doesn't end when players walk out of the locker room, and I am excited to have Paul as part of this team. He is a quality player, a great guy and someone I have confidence in at both ends of the ice. Plus he has the intangible qualities that can't always be measured on a score sheet; guts, intensity and a winning attitude that will be contagious with his new team-mates."
