The Coors Giants are the third elite league team that Sutter has played for in as many years. He started in Nottingham in 2005/06 where he notched up 30 points in 37 games including 14 goals. Last season he moved to Sheffield and had an outstanding season in a Steelers jersey scoring 35 goals and 67 points in 57 games. Shaun has a nose for the net, particularly on the power play where he will be posted up in front of the opposing goal banging in rebounds all season long. Last year he led the Steelers in power play tallies and will be bringing an added element to the Coors Giants man advantage this season.
The hard working winger played his amateur hockey in the WHL finishing off his career with the Calgary Hitmen in 2001 when he scored 64 points in 63 games. A former 4th round NHL draft pick of the Calgary Flames, the name Sutter is synonymous with professional hockey. His father and his five uncles all starred in the NHL from the late 70's to the early 90's. His father Brian played 12 seasons with the St. Louis Blues and was an NHL Head Coach for 13 years. His Uncle Darryl is the GM of the Calgary Flames and his Uncle Brent is the Head Coach of the New Jersey Devils.
